Yes! it's easy to grow a crop of potatoes in a bag, such as a compost bag, or even a bin, for example! You can simply plant your seed potatoes in the bag, and wait for them to grow. Plant potatoes in bags from February to April (depending on their type) for a crop between June to October.Put in two tubers per bag and bury them in the 30cm of soil/compost mix and back fill another 15cms or so on top. Water them in well. Put your sacks somewhere bright, frost free and a little warm. Within 3 weeks or so, they will have begun to shoot.
I would like to grow potatoes, but dont know when the best time to plant them is? also I dont have very large garden - am I able to grow them in a container, or do they need to be in the grounf? TY
thank you....will give it a go. in a bin, thanks ๐
